A Thousand Enemies - Dread for Rabbits
I've been meaning to make this game for a while but just haven't had the perfect game group to inflict it on. Watership Down is one of my most cherished childhood books and one of my most formative exposures to the flexibility of fantasy so I really wanted to do the story justice. In "A Thousand Enemies" the main thematic focus is the scale of danger rabbits face constantly. The 'thousand enemies' is really just that- foxes, cats, stoats, hawks, humans, etc. This Dread scenario plays to that theme relentlessly. Players are subjected to danger in nearly every form while trying to run a search and rescue for a valuable member of their warren that was last sighted cornered by humans on a farmstead. This plays much more aggressively than a normal Dread game for me as well purely because nearly any action a rabbit PC can take is them trying to defy imminent danger in some capacity. This makes for a not-super-long Dread session, but man is it intense.
I hope you'll check it out! We had a blast playing it.
