Live and in Person! Stuck in quarantine with roomates? Play Sumo Spin!
Here in the United States, the need to self isolate and quarantine is still going strong. We know a lot of you are stuck inside with roommates and family so we made a nifty 2 player game you can play on 1 keyboard. Sumo Spin pivots on a central "spinning" mechanic where the pucks are constantly rotating, locking on to your opponent is the first challenge and then building up the correct amount of power is the second. It's easy to overshoot your opponent and building up to full strength can take critical seconds and leave you vulnerable. But no matter how you do it, you just gotta knock them out of bounds!
We made this game in Unity with help from DustyRoom's Retro Aesthetics pack for some sweet shaders/visual effects. Heavily inspired by Atari arcade classics, single-mechanic sports games, and early-era Nintendo titles, Sumo Spin is an old-school throwback with chunky pixels, crt scanlines, and bloopy sfx. If these things are your jam, check it out!
